Do Go-Givers Sell More?

That is the question that I am sure many readers asked themselves after reading Bob Burg & John David Mann Best Selling book The Go-Giver.

“Yes… the Five Laws taught in his book sounds all good and all but how do I apply it to real life and can I really sell more?”

Well I had the opportunity to review a copy of Bob Burg & John David Mann’s newest book and after reading it, it is for certain that Yes! Go-Givers Do Sell More!

In their newest book Bob & John explains in more detail about The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success and talks about the Truth of Selling and how to apply The Five Laws without using traditional sales techniques that is customary in the marketplace. Most people think about sales as based on an effort to get something from another person but Bob & John explains in their book that selling is about giving, giving your time, your attention, educating and providing value. By using this principle it is definitely possible to Sell More.

In traditional sales the would be customer, client or prospect is lead through a sales funnel similar to one below:

Prospect —> Qualify —>Present —>Overcome Objections —> Close —>Follow Up —> Provide Customer Service

However in the book “Go-Givers Sell More” it teaches a different approach.

Create value —> Touch people’s lives —>Build Networks —> Be Real —> Stay Open

Each of the five steps correspond with the “Five Laws Of Stratospheric Success taught in “The Go-Giver”

The Law of Value = Create Value

The Law of Compensation = Touch people’s lives

The Law of Influence = Build Networks

The Law of Authenticity = Be Real

The Law of Receptivity = Stay Open

“Go Giver Sells More” explains that “People who grasp and live the principles of giving not only live happier and more fulfilled lives, they are also among the most successful people we know.”

In Bob & John’s newest book they give real-life stories of how sales people prospered by giving more and creating success by using the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success thought in their book.  Go-Givers Sell More offers great tips and strategies and provides a guide that anyone can follow to have a successful career in sales or for communicating with people on a day to day basis.

  • Yes according to my experience Go-Givers sell and get more.
    As a simple example, if your blog would allow the insertion of "follow" link in the comments, you would get more comments, more traffic and likely more people interested in your services.

    It works for me. Give people what they want and what they really need, help them to the best of your ability and your business will really grow.

    Of course you always get the occasional abuser who thinks the smartest strategy is to extract every drop of usefulness from everybody while keeping everything for his or her profit. But check out these guys for fun. They struggle and get little.

    The best strategy is to not go against them but with them. Give them what they want and do your best to show that to everyone. You will attract more abusers but along with them a lot of good hearted and honest customers who will help you make much more so in the end you will receive more than you have given.

People will befriend and create relationship people who they believe can be trusted and that are real. People they believe are Authentic..
